NGO trains 60 journos on human rights issues

Five NGOs have organized 5-day training to 60 young journalists in a move to empower them with skills on how to report human rights issues. The organizations are; We World GVC in Tanzania, Tanzania Bora Initiative (TBI), Kiota Women Health and Development Organization (KIWOHEDE), and Tanzania Development Information Organization (TADIO).

The training was officiated by Nassibu Mwaifunga from the Prime Ministers’ Office responsible for Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled is part of a project titled ‘Sauti Mpya: a CSO media partnership for amplifying youth and women voices’ implemented with partnership from the European Union (EU).

He added that the training is expected to increase media coverage on human rights issues and quality of reporting with a particular focus on challenges facing women and youth.
