TADIO NEW SECRETARIAT INVITED TO UNESCO FOR AN INTRODUCTION

Tanzania Development Information Organisation (TADIO) is partnering with UNESCO to support TADIO and its members in an agreement called Implementation Plan Agreement. On 17 Jan 2019, TADIO which has a new Secretariat since December 2018, was invited to UNESCO for an induction meeting. The meeting was attended by Cristopher Legay the Project Coordinator, Linda Madete – Project/Admin Assistant and Rose Mwalongo – Project Officer.  TADIO Secretariat was led by Coordinator, Ms. Vicensia Fuko, Cosmas Lupoja – Finance and Administration Officer as well as Public Relations and Marketing Officer, Mr. Bakari Khaled.

The Secretariat was given an account of the TADIO ‘s background, and the prospect that UNESCO has for the organisation. In brief, UNESCO expects that the new Secretariat will commit themselves to the TADIO’s work and especially, the IPA to make TADIO’s activities relevant to the members and the communities that the members are serving.

Also, the Secretariat was challenged to be ambitious strive to increase TADIO’s visibility especially, to potential partners so they can leverage the huge opportunity of engaging with the pool of TADIO members that are spread across the country. UNESCO affirmed their support during the implementation period to ensure that the Secretariat discharge its duties effectively and efficiently.
