The ongoing session in Mtwara has brought together a diverse group of participants, including development officers, community development officers, religious leaders, traditional leaders, policymakers, youth representatives, and gender activists.

Organized by TADIO and generously funded by UN Women, this one-day session serves as a vital platform for stakeholders. The primary goal is to inspire, educate, and actively engage the community in fostering meaningful participation of women, both with and without disabilities, in leadership roles and economic rights at the grassroots level.

At the core of this initiative is the Women’s Leadership and Economic Rights (WLER) project, a collaborative effort involving the government and various non-governmental organizations, supported by UN Women’s funding.

The project seeks to instill positive attitudes in society regarding women, with a particular emphasis on promoting gender equality. Through these collective efforts, the aim is to contribute to the transformation of societal perceptions and attitudes towards women.
